Whispering Pines
(higher resolution)

This is a 16" square lithograph that will be in a show called Into the Mouth of the Wolf at Lloyd Dobler Gallery out in Chicago. This Friday, March 14th, 6-10pm. I'll not be able to make it but anyone in the area should surely go check it out. My old pal Matthew Woodson has a beautiful piece in here too, and it'll feature a soundtrack by Xela.

Also, i haven't posted in this thing in a while but a few weeks ago a bunch of you got an add from username: shungalives. That's Aaron K and he's going to save the human race so check it out.

Life has been really good to me lately.

Really nice, Brendan. It's great to hear you're doing shows and stuff. (This is Nivius's new journal, by the by)

that gallery is 2 blocks from my apartment, I have absolutely no excuse not to go. So glad to see you're getting your stuff out there!

!!!

This is great! Love the square format, and composition.

I ran into Cynthia yesterday, the nice lady in your still life class. We always have a nice chat, and here is part of our conversation:

Cynthia:"oh you should have seen one of the hw pieces.. absolutely beautiful..I forget his name...what's his name.. I thought it was a bouquet of flowers at first.. but it was bones.."

Me (cutting her off): "ohhh! That's Brendan!"

Cynthia: "Yes!"

Funny how when bones enter the picture, I immediately "know" ..

She's the lady who did the cow skull on extreme close-up day.. and.. hmmm.. she was the one who had a stone bird (with two oranges?) in her composition for the most recent hw assignment.

Every Tuesday, after harassing Adam, I always have a nice chat with her.

Pancakes! And I'll make sure to mosey on down to the third floor to see what you are up to. (:

That's so rad. Kosuke is asking about your stuff because I keep bragging about my superior artistic family. I'm gonna show him this and his nose will bleed.

gallery owners don't know shit about flattening paper it seems. don't worry, i've got it all covered.

i was feeling super stoked about this whole show, until i saw your piece. it puts my piece to shame...and i am a jealous ass because of it. John's soundtrack is UNBELIEVABLE. I just spent the last 6 hours helping the girls hang everything, and it all looks really awesome. you're a shining star mr. larsen.

you need to come online more often, i have a ton of shit to show you, and also a ton of shit to ask you too.

actually:
i got an "oh god what am i doing" feeling when i saw your post. it's a gorgeous piece, and it's a little amazing that we both picked square compositions of melting women. maybe there's something about seeing someone else's drawing with fresh eyes that we ourselves can't "get."

i've got a whole week ahead of me with the litho studio shut down, we should do some catching up.

I was a little shocked running across this randomly. I went to that show last Friday to see Woodson's piece, but of course I saw this one there as well. Nice work.
