it's a set up for a still life.

tromp l'oeil

the text under the pipe is what came out when i ran "TRACTOR BEAM" into babelfish.
i think i won't even post the painting, but it does look pretty o.k. right now.

me and classical realism are pretty much divorced. it took a few years but i'm leaving a better man for it. i can't hate on it too hard because i honestly do respect a lot of folks in this field. "I can hang with the cult but I can't drink the Kool-Aid" i think is how it goes.

i figured it out. just because vegan girls with abstract paintings are irritating doesn't mean it's cool to listen to chopin all the time and read about lost oil mediums. this is a box of bullshit that means i am also a box of bullshit.

it's time to make anaglyph collages, or apply what i've got to lithography, or move to alaska and draw maps of how i wish the continents were shaped, or make glow-in-the-dark wheatpastes of saints certified by the catholic church as incorrupt, or draw comics, or whatever. but i'm done worrying about formalities. it's reactionary bullshit and i'm annoyed with myself for buying into it for any longer than i had to.

i really agree with a lot of the stuff you typed up there. the way most people do art is so tiresome and forced. i prefer the views of bacon & duchamp
my friends got kicked out of a gallery friday and it made me think about it more

but i hope you post the painting here anyway, even a secret locked entry

kind of reminds me of joseph cornell too
saw him at the sfmoma in decemeber but the lighting was weird
